The Adidas Essnova was designed for intermediate players with good mastery of key skills who want a racket with good handling and control.This version – a Decathlon exclusive – features a round shape, fibreglass surface and neutral balance. It has a low weight (360-370 g) and is made with comfortable Soft Performance foam.

The Adidas Essnova is perfect for intermediate players with good foundational padel skills. The composition promotes control and extreme manoeuvrability. This racket will make it easier for you to aim your shots.

Playing style: Control

On the court, this racket provides excellent control with its round head and low balance point. This makes it easier to return the ball while the fibreglass surface and Soft Eva Performance foam give you a very soft feel. The rough surface optimises spin.

Balance: Low

This is the racket balance point, measured in millimetres from the bottom of the racket handle.
The larger the number (head-heavy balance), the more power and stability you’ll get from the racket and the heavier it will feel (even if it’s not a heavy racket). However, you’ll have to give up some manoeuvrability. The smaller the number (grip biased or handle heavy), the easier the racket will be to handle, but the less power and stability you’ll get.

Head size: 470 cm²

This is the surface area of the racket head size measured in squared centimetres. It has an impact on the racket’s forgiveness and power. The larger the head size, the more powerful and forgiving the racket is. The downside is less control. Conversely, the smaller the racket’s head size, the greater the feeling of control, but the less powerful and forgiving it will be.

Just like the balance point, the weight impacts a racket’s swingweight and therefore its manoeuvrability, stability and ability to transfer energy to the ball (power). The heavier the racket, the more power you’ll get, but the harder it will be to handle. Conversely, the lighter the racket, the easier it will be to handle, but the less powerful it will be.

External material: Fibreglass

Fibreglass is the most flexible option for the external material: the more flexible the fibre, the easier the ball will come off the racket and the more comfortable the shot. With a less flexible fibre, we can get more power into the racket.

Internal material: Soft EVA Performance

The low-density Eva Soft Performance foam enhances the ball rebound and offers an incredible feel on impact without sacrificing power.
